About

Welcome to The Dawson Hostel – Your Key to Dublin

Stay right in the heart of Dublin at The Dawson Hostel, just around the corner from Grafton Street and a short stroll to Temple Bar, Trinity College, and St. Stephen’s Green. Whether you're here for the culture, the nightlife, or just to explore the city, you're in the perfect spot.

We’ve got a range of en-suite room options including private rooms, mixed dorms, and female-only dorms. All rooms have air conditioning, heating, and private bathrooms. Dorm beds come with under-bed storage—just bring your own padlock.

There’s free high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the building, a self-catering kitchen, a common room, and 24-hour reception. Luggage storage and laundry facilities are available for a small fee, and towels can be hired for €3.

Heads-up: We’re right in the middle of Dublin’s nightlife scene, with nightclubs, pubs, bars and restaurants around the building. That means it can get noisy, especially on weekends. We offer free earplugs at reception, so you're covered if you're a light sleeper.

One more thing: we’re in a lovely old building, but that means no lift, just stairs. So please keep that in mind when packing or booking.

Ideal for solo travellers, groups, and backpackers who want to be where the action is—The Dawson Hostel puts you in the centre of it all.

Please note:
Quiet hours run from 23:00 to 08:00. If you’re a night owl, feel free to use the common room and keep noise to a minimum in the corridors and outside areas.
Check-out is by 10:00 a.m. on your departure day. We’ll miss you, but we do need to get things ready for the next guests.
No smoking or illegal substances anywhere on the property. Breaking this rule comes with a €100 fine, and that’s no fun for anyone.
This is an alcohol-free space. That means no drinking or storing alcohol in rooms or common areas.
Any damages (including seriously messy bedding or carpets) may result in charges of up to €200.

The location was great for walking everywhere. Our room seemed as though they hadn't vacuumed in months, you could not breathe from all the dust in the carpet. The whole room smelt musty. The bathroom floor was soaked the whole time as there must have been a leak. 1 bathroom for 12 people is not ideal at all. One of the workers did not respect boundaries with my friend and made the remainder of the trip uncomfortable.

Great location, staff were okay, beds and rooms were clean and comfortable, but the bathroom felt a little dirty and stinky. The building and rooms were a little outdated and very hard to navigate to the room. The bars around were very loud at night (granted, we were there during the weekend and Halloween) but not bad with the window closed. Decent experience overall.

Everything went awful, the bedroom had no conditions for 20 people, all the staff I met was super shady. Paying for one towel is just ridiculous... the smell in the bathroom was terrible, it didn't even had toilet paper, only weed on top of the toilets. Lack of cleaning everywhere, super loud at night because of the club near. I would recommend sleeping somewhere else if visiting Dublin for sure.
