About

Since 1999, we've been welcoming travelers of all ages and countries to our small, cozy, family-owned hostel. Behind the front desk you'll find the owners Linda or Steve or our manager Yuli or 1-2 of our rotating volunteers. Our long-time housekeeper Lea keeps our place clean, neat, and tidy. We're located right near Rome's central train station Termini. Whether you're traveling solo, with friends or family, or as a couple, we have a variety of room types to suit all needs and budgets: dorm rooms (including female-only dorms) and private rooms with shared or private bathroom.

Common areas include a courtyard garden, a comfortable indoor lounge where you can relax at any time of the day and use of our communal kitchen. We are not a party hostel, but that doesn't mean we don't want guests to socialize! While we do our best to provide opportunities for guests to interact, we are a small hostel and can't guarantee a social atmosphere. It does depend on the personalities and willingness of other guests who are staying here at the time.

IMPORTANT: We do not have 24-hour reception. Our reception hours are 09:00-21:00 and we cannot offer an early check-in or a late check-in. Do not reserve if your flight arrives after 19:30 as it takes some time to get from Rome's two airports into the city center. Please read the important information in our House Rules so there are no surprises for you. Every hostel is different and has their own policies and procedures.

We do not offer breakfast, but we do have a bagel business - Beehive Bagels. We sell fresh, homemade bagels Monday-Friday and we also at times have frozen in stock. You can order the day before if there's a particular flavor you want or you can choose from a selection in the morning. We have a self-catering kitchen area for guests with a refrigerator, stove-top, microwave, kettle, and toaster.

Again, please read the important information in our House Rules so there are no surprises for you as each hostel is different and has their own policies and procedures.

Restrictions to number of beds, rooms and number of nights: We have a 7 night maximum stay. We are a small hostel and do not allow groups of more than 2 people at a time. If we receive your booking and you exceed our limit, we will notify you so that you can cancel and use your deposit to book elsewhere. If you book a non-refundable reservation and have booked more than 1 private room or more than 2 beds, we will not charge you the penalty when we receive the booking but you will lose your deposit with Hostelworld.

Staying at the Beehive made Rome my favorite stop on my trip. The staff were so great and the bagels they sell in the morning are so good. It’s a relaxed hostel and you don’t have to be social if you don’t want to, but I highly recommend the social walk they. It was honestly the highlight of my trip and I made so many friends to explore the city with. Really great way to end the trip.
